gulianhuachi, a national key cultural relic protection unit and one of the top ten famous gardens in china, is located in the center of baoding city. it is far from the governor's office in zhili. the main gate of the ancient lotus pond faces north and south, with a pair of stone lions in front of the gate. the gate tower is surrounded by three gates and three couplets. a large horizontal plaque of "ancient lotus pond" written by president xu shichang at the beginning of the republic of china is hanging above the middle gate.

white lotus pool, formerly known as xuexiang garden, was built by zhang rou, king of runan in yuan dynasty. it was first built in 1220 adxxx in, the total area is 24000 square meters, of which the pond area is 790 square meters. the lotus pond has been surrounded by water since ancient times, and is famous for its water. it also brings together the essence of china's ancient architecture and gardens in the north and south.

one day in the summer vacation, my mother took me to the ancient lotus pond. gulianhuachi is located on yuhua road in baoding city. we arrived in half an hour by bus.

as soon as i got to the door, i was fascinated by the antique architecture. looking up, i can see the big words "ancient lotus pond" on the plaque on the door is particularly dazzling in the sun. i eagerly went in, want to quickly enjoy the beauty inside.

as soon as i enter the door, i see a rockery first. it's amazing that there is a small pine tree among the rocks of the rockery. the pine tree is very thick. it seems that it has been growing here for many years.

around the rockery, walk south more than ten meters, look to the west, wow, a pool full of lotus, so beautiful! i ran to the past, carefully appreciate the beautiful lotus. lotus leaves are emerald green, like jade plates of green jadeite. the lotus leaf is much bigger than i expected, with a diameter of about 30 decimeters. it can be used as an umbrella for me! the lotus is more beautiful, pink and white. from a distance, it looks like beautiful girls in green skirts dancing with the wind. because it has entered august, most of the lotus has withered, growing a lot of large and small lotus, i look like a lot of honeycomb. mother said these "honeycomb" inside the long but delicious lotus seeds! in the lotus pond water, i saw a lot of small tadpoles, also see a few golden carp!
